Shirley “Kilroy” Ann Thomas Niday, 63, of Troutville, passed away Thursday, February 28, 2013. Shirley was the "voice" of Magic City Ford for many years with the tag line "We are so nice to deal with!" which will be lovingly remembered by Roanoke Valley citizens for many years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Maston Lafayette and Anna Mae Thomas and sister-in-law, Liz Thomas. Left to cherish her memory are her loving and devoted husband of 30 years, Wayne Niday; daughters and sons-in-law, Kitty Renee and Alan Rierson of Troutville; Tracy Nicole and Ricky Boblett of Buchanan; grandchildren, Cheyenne and Briana Cundiff, Kiana and Jake McNutt; step-grandchildren, Keri and Kimber Rierson; sister and brother-in-law, Gail Thomas of Floyd; brothers and sister-in-law, Benton Thomas of Christiansburg; James and Linda Thomas; Fred and Barbara Thomas; Richard and Debbie Thomas all of Floyd; Steve and Debbie Thomas of Roanoke; and Lane and Debbie Thomas of Floyd; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; and many special friends. During her career in advertising, she made an extraordinary number of friends too numerous to mention as well as those in the NASCAR Racing community. She never met a stranger, was a loving wife and mother, and had a beautiful smile which she never lost not even in her long battle with breast cancer. She was loved by all those who knew her and will be greatly missed. The family would like to thank all the friends and neighbors for all their love and support. A special thank you to Rachael Osbourne and the Amedisys Hospice staff for their love and support through this difficult time. Funeral Services will be held at 1pm Sunday, March 3, 2013 at Simpson Funeral Home, 5160 Peters Creek Rd., Roanoke with Mr. Marty Raneri officiating. Interment will follow at 3pm in Thomas Cemetery in Floyd. Those wishing to make a contribution, please consider the Triple Negative Breast Cancer Foundation (TNBC), PO Box 204, Norwood, NJ 07648. Visitation will be held from 6-9pm Saturday, March 2, 2013 at Simpson Funeral Home and one hour prior the service. Online condolences to www.botetourtfuneralhome.
